Salem Witchcraft Memorials

There are two Witchcraft Memorials in Salem. The first memorial is next to the Old Burying Point Cemetery. The second is at Proctor's Ledge on Gallows Hill. Both are solemn places. Please take a moment to consider the contemporary lessons of the witch trials.

When visiting the memorial next to the cemetery, please stay on the path, refrain from climbing or sitting on the walls, standing on the benches, eating and smoking there.  Also, please refrain from walking on the grass. You are welcome to sit on the benches, leave flowers on the stones as a remembrance to those honored there and to take pictures.

The Proctor's Ledge Memorial is located on Pope Street next to a Walgreens. Please do not park in the Walgreen's parking lot when you visit. There is a parking lot up Gallows Hill next to the baseball field and playground. You are welcome to park there and walk down to Pope Street.

For more information on each memorial, please click on the buttons above.
