Salem is celebrating its 400th anniversary this year, making it one of the oldest cities in the United States.

Explore four centuries of Salem’s remarkable history from its illustrious founding in 1626, to its place as a thriving 21st century city today. We'll tell you about the witch trials that made Salem infamous, but there is so much more.

Learn about Salem’s critical role in the American Revolution, how it led the great Age of Sail to become the #1 seaport in America from 1790-1812, and all about the many important and famous people who’ve visited Salem.
We've had inventors, 18 presidents, political leaders and a myriad of celebrities come here. Salem was an abolitionist city so it is rich in Black history. We've also had many movies shot here, not just Hocus Pocus.

Discover Salem's 400 year old history, its role in America's development and a few quirky facts in this 90-minute overview.
